As a child I was blessed to be exposed to church, the Bible, Sunday School, and Christian music. This was a result of my mom reaching out to the prayer line of a local televangelist show. She knew that there was more to life than to live with a physically abusive and gambling alcoholic.

It's as if we were given a second chance to happiness - the very fun loving pastor and church members embraced my mom, my brother and I. Unfortunately my parents divorced during that time but my mom decided to give my brother and I a chance in life and left our very strong Catholic upbringing to raise us as a Christian one.

I understood at an early age what a family was without God and what it could be with God. It's been a "never look back" situation. I would not be where I am physically, spiritually and emotionally if I didn't accept Jesus Christ as my Savior at a young age.

Eternal life signifies being free. Many, like my dad, find happiness elsewhere other than church or God, but only fool themselves. I know that I am free, not to sin, but to enjoy God's blessings and everlasting life.

How can I turn away from someone who offers me the best that life has to offer? I know that when they ring my name in heaven that I will be dwelling for eternity with the One and Only, the Alpha and Omega, the One who was and who Forever will Be!

Anyone who does not grasp what God can do in their lives is only losing out on a second chance to true happiness.
