An Appreciation for Life

I remember a time in my life when I had no sense of purpose at all. The feelings of worthlessness even led me to thoughts of suicide on several occasions. On one occasion, I was driving my car on the highway and thought that I could easily drive down an embankment into some trees and end my life and no one would even care, not even God. Looking back on that experience, I can honestly say now that the lack of purpose has been replaced with an appreciation for life and a joyful outlook on the future.
The appreciation for life and my sense of purpose is still challenged from time to time, but now I know without a doubt that even if I were to die in an accident that I will be in Heaven.
