A 12 Year-Old's Life Changing Experience

When I was 12 years old, I remember listening to a speaker while I was at camp. He explained what sin was and how it separates us from a perfect God. I began to feel remorse as he explained Christ's suffering as a direct result of my sins. He explained how God loved me...specifically. I felt like the speaker was directing his message to me, as if I were the only camper in a room of at over 150 kids. How Jesus took the payment of my sin, died on the cross and rose again so that I could be forgiven. I could feel the Lord drawing me to Him.
I listened as the speaker told how I could know for sure that I could have eternal life. It was then that I realized I needed to humble myself before God, ask for His forgiveness and put my faith in Him. I prayed and asked Jesus to come into my heart.
I felt like I had a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! It changed my life.
While I was in college I experienced much anxiety and feared the pressures of dating, studying, working and preparing for my future. It took me some time but God helped me realize I wasn't trusting that He was in control. The fear I was experiencing wasn't from God. I prayed and read the Bible. Through His promises I realized I was and am safe in God's care.
God's word tells me because I believe and put my faith in Him as my savior I will have eternal life.
